The General Used-clothes Market Trend in Africa
We have researched on the effects Ebola virus has on used-clothes industry in Africa. Today we’ll talk about the general trend of this industry in Africa.
It will be Christmas soon but according to the data we have, the used clothes market in Africa is still hot. Recently, I also go to the offline market to get to know about it. In general, it’s quite positive. Our company locates in Hangzhou. Before, few black people came to buy used clothes but recently, they appear a lot. There’s a goods supply tension in Africa, and in general, the demand exceeds the supply.
In terms of Hangzhou, the price of the unassorted used clothes provided by the small-scale suppliers at the bottom of the industry chain(whose deliverability is about 10 ton per month) is 2400 RMB per ton and the price of unassorted summer clothes is 5400 to 5600 RMB per ton. I learnt that relatively speaking, the price rose a little than before because there war a serious shortage of goods in the market. Many used-clothes factories from the southern costal cities came to buy goods, as a result, the price rose. In addition, Christmas is coming and lots of foreign importers are going to celebrate it. Before the festival, they want to stock up. In a word, for many reasons, the price has risen. The Ebola virus hasn’t made great effects on the African market. For now, some capable African merchants can sell 1 to 2 containers of used clothes per day(about 50 to 56 tons). We can see the hot status from the supply shortage. I suggest that some capable companies can directly go to Africa to sell their goods.
